The moment I saw the blue Hosta ‘Krossa Regal’ . .

I must admit, I slowly collect plants in my summerhouse garden. The garden is tiny and space is limited. I only buy plants after I have researched and fell in love and I buy for fragrance, color and shape. (Well, that’s what I like to think 😉) And of course, plants that would survive my conditions.

When it comes to Hostas, the moment I saw the blue Krossa Regal, I knew I had to have it. It is huge, incredibly beautiful with an upright habit and large ribbed blue/green foliage and slugs don’t bother it. It has such distinctive charisma.
Each year, as Krossa Regal emerge from the ground, I love to watch the unfurling spirals. It is so dramatic. Each leaf unfolds with its own personality and destiny.

And let’s not forget, Krossa Regal have gained the Royal Horticulture Society’s Award of Garden Merit! Meaning, I have a ‘star’ in my garden. 😄
